Privacy Policy — Magpie

Effective date: 8 September 2026 · Developer: VihangaOne · support@vihangaone.com

  • We don't ask for accounts and don't collect your personal information.
  • Magpie has no servers of ours. Your browsing, your history and your downloads stay on your device.
  • Magpie contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK and no crash-reporting SDK — nothing reports back to us.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, contacts, location, files, or any account data — because Magpie has no accounts and no backend. We never receive the pages you visit, the links you paste, the files you download, or any part of your browsing history. There is no server of ours for that information to reach.

Data collected by third-party SDKs

None. Magpie contains no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no crash-reporting service. It does not collect an Android Advertising ID. This is unusual for an app of this kind, and it is deliberate: nothing in Magpie phones home.

If a future version adds crash reporting or any other third-party service, this policy will be updated before that version is released.

App-specific data handling

The Browse tab is a web browser. When you open a page in Magpie, your device connects to that website directly, exactly as it would in any other browser. That site receives your request and can see your IP address, set its own cookies, and apply its own privacy policy. We are not in the middle of that connection and cannot see it. Please read the privacy policy of any site you sign in to.

What Magpie stores on your device. All of the following is written only to Magpie's private storage on your phone, and none of it is transmitted to us:

Finding media on a page. Magpie inspects the page you are viewing on your own device to list the video, audio and images on it. When you paste or share a link instead, Magpie fetches that page — from your device, to that site — to do the same thing. The inspection happens locally; the page is never sent to us.

Files you download are fetched from the site hosting them and written to the public media folders you choose — by default Movies/Magpie, Pictures/Magpie and Music/Magpie. They are your files: they stay on your device after Magpie is uninstalled, and we never see them.

Backups. Magpie opts out of Android's automatic cloud backup, so its local data — including WebView cookies and your browsing history — is not copied to your Google account.

Permissions we request and why

Magpie does not request camera, microphone, contacts, location, or broad photo and video library access, and it does not use an advertising identifier.

Children's privacy

Magpie is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children. Because the Browse tab can open any website, Magpie is not suitable for unsupervised use by children.

Your controls

Data retention & deletion

We hold no user data ourselves, so there is nothing for us to retain, export or delete on your behalf. Uninstalling the app removes all of its local data. Because there is no account, there is no account-deletion process to complete. Files you downloaded are your own and remain on your device unless you delete them yourself.

Ads & purchases

Magpie is free to use. The current version contains no advertising, no advertising SDK, and no in-app purchases. If a future version introduces ads or a paid option, this policy will be updated before that version is released.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. The effective date at the top of this page changes with it. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.

Not affiliated with any website or service

Magpie is an independent tool and is not affiliated with, endorsed by, authorised by, or connected to any website or online service it can be used to view. All trademarks belong to their respective owners.

Media published on the internet is usually protected by copyright and by the terms of the site hosting it. You are responsible for having the right to save anything you save with Magpie, and for complying with the terms of the sites you visit. Some sites do not permit their media to be saved at all. Please treat other people's work the way you would want your own treated.
