Privacy Policy — ScanSaathi

Effective date: 12 September 2026 · Developer: VihangaOne · support@vihangaone.com

  • ScanSaathi collects no personal information — there is no account, no analytics, and no ads.
  • Every scan, PDF, and exam document you create stays on your device. Nothing is ever uploaded to us.
  • ScanSaathi works fully offline. There is no server on our end to send your data to, even if the app wanted to.

Not a government app

ScanSaathi is an independent app. It is not affiliated with, endorsed by, or authorised by UPSC, SSC, IBPS, RRB, or any other government body, examination authority or recruitment agency. Exam and organisation names appear in the app only to identify which form a size preset is for.

The size presets are editable starting points compiled from publicly available third-party guides — they are not official specifications, and they do not guarantee that your upload will be accepted. Each preset inside the app shows the source it was read from and the date it was last checked. Requirements differ by exam and by year, so always confirm against the official notification for your own exam, published by the exam body itself: UPSC, SSC, IBPS, RRB. The official notification is the only authority on what your portal will accept.

Information we do not collect

We do not collect your name, email address, phone number, contacts, location, or any account data — ScanSaathi has no accounts, no analytics, and no advertising. There is no server of ours to receive anything from your device, and the app cannot make a network connection at all: internet access is explicitly removed from ScanSaathi, including from every third-party library it uses.

Data collected by third-party SDKs

The camera screen you see when scanning a page is provided by Google Play Services' built-in document scanner, not by ScanSaathi's own code. It runs on your device in its own separate process, captures and straightens the page there, and hands the finished image back to ScanSaathi — ScanSaathi itself does not request camera permission. We ship no advertising SDK, no analytics SDK, and no crash-reporting SDK. See Google's Privacy Policy for how Play Services itself operates on your device.

App-specific data handling

Every PDF, scan, and exam-ready file you create is saved to your own device's storage — the same Documents area any file manager can see — and stays there until you delete it or uninstall the app. ScanSaathi never uploads, syncs, or backs up your files anywhere. If you turn on the optional App Lock, the fingerprint or face check is handled entirely by Android's own system biometric prompt; ScanSaathi never sees, stores, or has access to your biometric data. Your chosen app language is remembered locally as a standard Android per-app language setting.

Permissions we request and why

ScanSaathi does not request camera, microphone, contacts, location, or internet access.

Children's privacy

ScanSaathi is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect data from children — in practice, we do not collect data from anyone.

Data retention & deletion

We hold no user data on any server, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete. You can delete any scan or document at any time from within the app, and uninstalling ScanSaathi removes everything — files, presets, and settings — from your device. Because there is no account, there is no separate account-deletion process to complete.

Ads & purchases

ScanSaathi has no ads and no in-app purchases.

Changes to this policy

We may update this policy from time to time. Continued use of the app after an update means you accept the revised policy.
